What do you mean by a Verb?

A verb is an important part of speech. It means action word. Verbs express a physical action or state.

Examples: dry, find, flap, jump, let, etc.


Sentences

1. Dry this towel.

5. Let me introduce myself.

It has three forms

Ist : base form 

2nd: past form 

3rd: past participle form


Examples:  

dry(Ist)- dried(2nd)- dried(3rd)

find- found- found

flap- flapped- flapped

jump- jumped- jumped

let- let- let


Let's know how to conjugate

    A verb act is being taken as an example.


1st : Base Form- act

( Base Form is used in Simple Present Tense &  Future Indefinite.)


2nd: Past Form- acted 

( Past Form is used in Simple Past Tense)


3rd: Past Participle- acted 

( Past Participle Form is used in Present Perfect Tense , Past Perfect Tense & Future Perfect Tense.)


4th: Base form+s - acts

( Base Form+s is used in Simple Present Tense.)


5th: Present Participle - acting

( PP Form is used in Present Continuous , Past Continuous&  Future Continuous,  Present Perfect Continuous, Past PerfectContinuous & Future Perfect Continuous.)

✍ Most of these 81 Verbs are frequently used in all the four skills :  listening, speaking , reading and writing. 


✍ 7 Tips to learn faster

1. All are same . Five of these Forms of Verbs have same all the three forms. 

2. 27 of these Forms of Verbs are made by adding '- ed'.

3. 60 of these Verbs have same 2nd and 3rd forms.

4. All are different. 16 Verbs have different all the three forms.

5. Double the last letter. Last letter doubles when '-ed' is being added to it. 5 examples have been given.

6. Some verbs are made by replacing '-y' to '-ied'.

7. Replace '-d' with '-t'.
