Close to God , Close to Students

Image
Here is a picture before you. Can you guess what it is about? Well, teaching is a passion, not a profession. It requires a calm mind which understands the silence , tearful eyes and smiling lips.  Life isn't a bed of roses, but a bed of thorns. Today a student of mine was gloomy. When I asked the students to revise the Que-Ans., she couldn't focus on it. Noticing her tearful eyes, I enquired, but she didn’t utter a single word. I understood her pain, instructed all the students to close their eyes and pray for one another. All the students prayed and felt relaxed. Prayer is the key to happiness. When we pray for someone, we become gold-hearted and we try to understand others.  After a few minutes, the gloomy girl came to me and told me about her problem. I consoled her and taught her how to overcome the problem. The problem was big enough, so was the ray of hope that was shining in her eyes. I felt relieved and warm. Soon, the bell rang. Teaching Tip: Need to Focus on Two Types of Assessments

Image
During my 16 years of teaching period , I have come across the conclusion that two types of assessments matter a lot to make headway in the performance of the learners. 1. Teacher Assessment :  A teacher can adopt a zillion of methods to assess and revamp the overall performance of his pupils. One such method is giving tests. Let it be daily, weekly, fortnightly, monthly or annually. Mainting its record can play a wonderful role. 2. Self Assessment : When a student assesses his performance in every single test, he must put his invaluable insight to look for his weaknesses and adopt some useful skills to subdue his fears. If not done , then the Achilles heel can become the stumbling-block in the path of his progress. A teacher can help him assess. Happy teaching !                                        .....cont........

Teaching Tip : Pay Heed towards Unattended Students

Have you ever wondered why some students are weak in studies? Well, according to my best belief, it is so because - they remain unattended and unnoticed- no one pays much heed towards their needs , desires and aspirations . They can do wonders if we start paying a little more attention towards them and cater their needs.  First and foremost is to fulfill their basic necessity that is stationery.  They can do nothing if they don't possess it. Have a look and find out how many of them do not have a required set of stationery . Try your utmost to provide them , and also make them aware about its importance.  .....contd.....

Teaching Tip : Use No Derogatory Words

Never use derogatory remarks for a child. Each child has his own pace of learning and understanding. Using harsh or derogatory words lowers his ability to show any improvement. Teaching Tip: Encouragement Builds Strong Foundation

As a teacher, we deal with different types of students.  But all of them need psychological treatment.  They need affection, concern , care and encouragement to develop into a perfect human being. A child may not be getting any of these essential elements at home, but we must render them all to help them grow into a happy being. Remember: Encouragement Helps in Laying Strong Foundation in Childhood. Small words / phrases/ sentences can be used -  proud of you, love you, you can do better, you can do wonder, I know you can do, Keep  it up , You deserve it, etc.  You will find tremendous improvement in his/her behavior and studies in a couple of days.
