Suffixes : er, -or, -able, -ing, -ment, -ive

Suffix means a letter or a group of letters added at the end of a word to make a new word.

Examples  :  

-er, -or, -able, -ing, -ment, -ive


1) Suffix : -able

     meaning = capable of

  6. likeable 
  7. noticeable 
  8. pleasurable

2) Suffix : -er

     meaning = person (who        

        performs an action)

  9. teacher 
  10. teller


3) Suffix : -ing

     meaning = an action or result

  1. building 
  2. crying

  9. singing 
  10. teaching 


4) Suffix : -ive

     meaning = having the nature           of 

  1. active
  2. attentive 
  3. attractive

  9. progressive 
  10. responsive 


5) Suffix : -ment

     meaning = action, result,     process

  1. advertisement

6) Suffix : -or

     meaning = someone who does something,  a doer
